HOW TO NOT BE A MOTHER is the first and only LA-based storytelling+ salon for women who are not mothers (by choice or by circumstance). It is hosted and produced by writer Jessie Rosen.
The next salon will be in December.
My goal with this new project is to host a safe, educational, nourishing, fun and most importantly, community-building space for women who are not mothers, by choice or by circumstance. Picture an evening of material ranging from stories and essays to PowerPoints and poetry.
The “how to” in the show title is a big part of the mission. I want us to help show each other – and those who support us – how to live as women without children in comfort and with joy. All are welcome to attend.
I am so excited about what we’ve already been creating since launch in the Spring of 2026. Here’s to all to come!

Jessie Rosen is the best-selling author of THE HEIRLOOM & ALL THE SIGNS. She got her start with the award-winning blog 20-Nothings and has sold original TV projects to ABC, CBS, and Netflix.
